On the Feb. 13 edition of Talking Preps, Randall Clark, Rick Lewis and Gary Richmond announced their choices for coaches and players of the year for some regional conferences.

We wanted to let you have your say.

Vote your for choice for Mecklenburg County public school, regional private school and regional public boys players of the year. You may vote as often as you want. The poll will end Monday, Feb. 20.

Note: These reader selections do not represent The All-Observer team which will be released in March or April.

Each school could have only one player nominated.

Mecklenburg County Public Boys Player of the year

Isaiah Evans, North Mecklenburg: 5-star national recruit averaging Queen City 3A/4A league-best 25 points per game plus seven rebounds.

Clayton Gaither, Providence: averaging 17.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists for the Panthers.

Maurio Hanson, Chambers: averaging 15.1 points, a team-best 6.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists and 1.5 blocks. Big man ranks among top two on his team in each category.

Jaden Lyles, Rocky River: averages 19 points, seven rebounds and 2.5 assists for the Ravens.

Rashad McCormick, Hough: Averaging 16.2 points per game, 6.9 rebounds and 2.2, leading team in each category.

Zion McDuffie, Butler: high-jumping win averaging 17.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists per game.

Peter Moye, South Mecklenburg: averaging 20.6 points, tops in the SoMECK conference, plus 4.7 rebounds and a team-best three assists per game.

Jordon Nevill, East Mecklenburg: averages 23.3 points per game, four rebounds and three assists while shooting 48 percent from 3-point range.

Brock Rose, Ardrey Kell: senior guard averaging 19.8 points, 6.7 rebounds.

Elijah Strong, Myers Park: 2023 Carolinas Classic selection averages 15.6 points, 5.1 rebounds for balanced Mustangs team.

Kameron Taylor, Olympic: junior averaging 18.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and three assists on his first year on varsity.

Pat Tivnan, Charlotte Catholic: 6-8 center averages 16.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and shoots 60 percent from the field.

Quay Watson, Hopewell: Averaging 24 points per game and shooting 47 percent from 3.

Regional Private Boys Player of the year

Riley Allenspach, Providence Day: 6-10 big man is double-double machine for Chargers.

Eli Clark, Metrolina Christian: point guard averaging 22.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

Dallas Gardner, Charlotte Country Day: leads the team at 19.5 points per game.

Tim Hall, Westminster Catawba: Averaging 23.1 points, 14.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks.

Champion Hayden, North Hills Christian: Rowan County star averaging 21.1 points, 11 rebounds and 1.8 steals.

Armani Henderson, Hickory Grove: Averaging 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 3.3 assists per game.

Ned Hull, Charlotte Latin: owns multiple 30-point games this season.

John Lash, Charlotte Christian: Sophomore averaging 24.4 points and 14 rebounds.

Jaeden Mustaf, Carmel Christian: leads team at 15.6 points per game to go with 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists.

Cameron Newman, Gaston Christian: Averaging 16 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists.

Antonio Perkins, Northside Christian: senior averages 15.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and two steals.

Avion Pinner, Concord Academy: Averaging 15.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 64 percent from the field.

Austin Swartz, Cannon School: led team to 28-6 record through Feb. 15 and is one of the state’s top scorers

Lincoln Vinson, Lake Norman Christian: No. 8 scorer in North Carolina at 26 points per game.

Regional Public School Boys Player of the year

Addison Archer, Chase: 6-7 forward is a 2023 Carolinas Classic selection. Averaging 21.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks.

Langston Boyd, Cox Mill: 19.1 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 4.6 assists.

Amore Connelly, Freedom: high-scoring guard has helped team to 19-4 record, first place conference finish.

Juke Harris, Salisbury: one of the nation’s top recruits in junior class has led Salisbury to a 17-5 record and 10-game win streak through Feb. 14.

Kyler Harris, Porter Ridge: Ranks No. 9 in North Carolina at 26 points per game.

Tee Harris, East Rowan: senior averaging 21 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 blocks.

Greyson Kines, South Point: 15 points, five rebounds, 2.6 steals and two assists for Big South champs.

Paul McNeil, Richmond Senior: transferred back to Richmond from California has the Raiders ranked among state’s top 10 in 4A. Averages 24.7 points per game.

Malek Patterson, West Caldwell: senior averaging 19.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists.

Randall Pettus, Bessemer City: Senior guard averages 22.8 points per game, eight rebounds and eight assists per game.

Dacen “Pop” Petty, East Rutherford: sophomore averaging 20.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.5 steals.

McCaskill Rivers, East Gaston: Senior averaging 21.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists this season.

Jake Shearin, Central Academy: Senior boosted averages from 17.4 to 22.3 this season, also getting 8.8 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game.

Jaiden Thompson, Central Cabarrus: leader of unbeaten team has matched his 19.8 points per game average of his junior year and gets five rebounds, four assists and 4.4 steals per game.

Jordan Truesdale, West Lincoln: senior averaging 22.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

Zymicah Wilkins, R-S Central: The state’s top sophomore recruit is No. 4 in the state at 28.2 points per game, plus 11.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
